SUBJECT: Trouble with Silver
<E>:lightwave-l@netcom.com
JHILEM wrote that he was having difficulty with the silver look on a flat piece
of text. He had recieved advice on how to mak the the text glitter by using a
reflection map, but could not achieve the sivler 'look'.
I have had the same difficulty with flat objects. the relection map works
best on obects that are rounded or spherical in nature. I have not achieved
the desired 'Silver' or metallic look otherwise. I have always needed to make
the objects rounded or beveled. The text macros in modeler work well on this.
Alan H. is this the nature of reflection maps, or are my freind and I missing
something. I've read through that part of the VT manual many times, and I fail
to understand why it behaves so.
Oh well, probrably something obvious that can't permeate my thick sckull....
Chow.
I haven't lost my mind!
It's backed up on my SyQuest drive somewhere.....
